What to do if you water the rose too much?

Overwatering roses

If the branches and leaves of the rose are drooping, and then yellow and fall off after a period of time, then it can be basically judged that too much water has been given, because excessive watering will cause waterlogging in the potting soil, damage the root system, and cause yellow and falling leaves.

If the rose is watered too much, if the situation is too serious, it will cause damage to the root system, and it is very likely to cause the death of the plant. If we find that the rose we are maintaining has been watered too much, we can deal with it according to different degrees:

The situation is not serious : you can loosen the soil and drain the rose, and then place the rose in a warm and ventilated environment for maintenance.

If the situation is more serious : directly repot the rose, cut off the rotten roots, disinfect and sterilize it before replanting.

Rose is drenched by rain

After the roses are exposed to rain, they must be sprayed with pesticides in time, using fungicides with strong bactericidal effects for comprehensive spraying. Otherwise, black spot disease will easily spread rapidly, causing large areas of rose leaves to be infected, turn yellow and fall off.

Watering tips for roses

1. How much water to water the rose each time is usually determined by the climate, environment and other factors. You need to wait until the surface of the potting soil turns white before watering, and water it thoroughly until water seeps out from the bottom of the pot.

2. There is no specific standard for how often you should water roses. Generally, in summer, the temperature is high and water evaporates quickly, so you need to water more often, and try to water in the morning and evening. In spring and autumn, you can water normally, and just water thoroughly when the soil is dry.

3. Adding some ferrous sulfate when watering roses can make the plants grow vigorously. Because ferrous sulfate is acidic, watering with this kind of water can keep the soil acidic and promote plant growth.
