Panax notoginseng is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Jiangxi and other provinces. It is often found in areas with an altitude of 1200-1800 meters. It likes a warm, shady and humid growing environment. The plant is afraid of severe cold and scorching heat.

Panax notoginseng growth temperature

The optimum growth temperature of Panax notoginseng is around 22℃. The plant is afraid of both severe cold and extreme heat. If the temperature is below 0℃, the plant will be frostbitten. If the temperature is above 32℃, the growth of the seedlings will be affected.

Panax notoginseng growth humidity

Panax notoginseng has high requirements for water. The relative humidity of the air should be around 70-80%, and the soil moisture should be between 25%-30%. When watering, be sure to water lightly and evenly.

Panax notoginseng growing soil

Panax notoginseng prefers deep, loose, slightly acidic soil rich in organic matter. The soil pH value should be between 5.5-7. Red soil or brown red soil can be used. The planting site must be easily irrigated and drained and have a certain slope.

Panax notoginseng growth cycle and process

It takes more than three years for the Panax notoginseng plant to mature from sowing. Usually, one-year-old Panax notoginseng is used as seedlings. It will bloom and bear fruit in the second year, with buds appearing in July, flowers blooming in August, and fruits ripening in batches from October to November.
