The reason why your daffodils are not fragrant

The reason why your daffodils are not fragrant

1. Buying inferior flower heads

There are many daffodil heads of poor quality on the market now. The circumference of the main head in the middle part of some flower heads does not reach 15 cm, which means that they have not fully developed. When you buy such a flower head, no matter how well you take care of it, how suitable the environment is, and how sufficient the nutrients are, it will only make its leaves grow. Excessive growth of leaves will consume most of the nutrients, causing the number of flowers on the plant to become fewer and fewer. Even if the flowers bloom, they will not have much fragrance, or even no fragrance at all.

2. The curing temperature is too high

This plant originates in the wild, and its flowering period is in early spring, when the outdoor temperature is relatively cool. When we grow it indoors, especially in winter, the indoor temperature can reach about 20 degrees, which can easily cause its leaves to grow excessively and consume most of the nutrients, which will affect the number and fragrance of flowers. The daytime temperature should be maintained between 10 and 12 degrees, and the nighttime temperature should be maintained between 5 and 7 degrees. This not only helps the flowers to open, but also increases their fragrance.

The above are the two main reasons why your daffodils bloom but are not fragrant. Finally, I would like to remind you: under normal temperature conditions, if you ensure 1 hour of light every day, the fragrance of the flowers will be stronger.
