Impatiens growth environment conditions and characteristics

Impatiens growth environment conditions and requirements

The Impatiens plant is native to China, India and other places. It prefers a warm, humid, well-lit growing environment. It is heat-resistant but not cold-resistant. It has low requirements for soil and can grow well in poor soil.

Impatiens growth temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for Impatiens is 15-30℃. The plant has very poor cold resistance. When the temperature is below 7℃, the plant may be frostbitten and needs timely and best insulation measures.

Impatiens growth humidity

Impatiens prefers a humid climate environment, and the air humidity is best between 50%-85%. It needs to be watered once a day during the growing season, but it needs to be drained in time during the rainy season and the soil must not be too moist.

Impatiens growing soil

Impatiens likes loose, breathable, nutrient-rich acidic soil. Sandy loam is a better choice. It can be prepared with garden soil, sandy soil, and leaf mold during daily maintenance.

Impatiens growth cycle and process

Spring and summer are the peak growth periods for Impatiens, with a growth cycle of about 150-240 days. Impatiens is generally sown between March and April, and will bloom in mid-to-early June. The flowering period is about two months, and fruits will be produced after the flowers wither.
