How to grow daisies

Daisy Growing Conditions

Daisies prefer a sunny and cool environment. They are not resistant to high temperatures but can tolerate partial shade. They are not very demanding on the soil for planting. The seed germination temperature is 22-28°C and the suitable growth temperature is 20-25°C. There are many varieties of daisies, among which medium and large flowered double-petal varieties grow weakly and have poor seed set.

How to grow daisies

To grow daisies, you need to provide fertile, well-breathable sandy soil. You can mix garden soil, humus soil, and sandy soil. Give it appropriate light on a daily basis, provide shade in summer, water it in time to keep the soil moist, apply some organic fertilizer during the seedling period, and pay attention to preventing diseases and pests.

Watering daisies

Daisies like a humid environment and can be watered when the soil is dry. However, excessive watering will cause water accumulation in the flowerpot, leading to root rot, so don't water too much at one time.

Fertilizing Daisies

Daisy is a fertilizer-loving plant. During the seedling stage, you can apply a little organic fertilizer, and during the flowering period, add phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. This can prolong the flowering period. Before fertilizing, it is best to put the fertilizer in water and stir and dilute it, which will be more conducive to the daisy's absorption of nutrients.

Daisy Pest Control

Daisies are prone to aphids, so you must observe them carefully during maintenance. Once discovered, you can buy insecticides at the pharmacy to treat them. Open windows frequently for ventilation, which will be more conducive to air flow.

How to grow daisies at home

Daisies can be watered frequently during the budding stage, and watering should be reduced after emergence. Apply thin fertilizer once a week during the growth period, and do not use concentrated fertilizer. Adequate light must be ensured during the growth and flowering periods. The normal temperature should be 18-22℃, below 25℃ in summer, above 5℃ in winter, and 10-25℃ during the flowering period.

Daisy Care Precautions

Daisies are not very demanding on the soil, and garden soil can be used for home cultivation. They cannot tolerate waterlogging environments. In addition to controlling watering, drainage should be done well during the rainy season, or the plants should be moved to a place without rain.
