How to grow Areca palm in autumn

How to grow Areca palm in autumn

1. Temperature

According to the habits of the Areca palm, the most suitable temperature conditions for it are 25 to 35 degrees. You don't need to pay attention to it in early autumn. However, when the temperature is low in late autumn, it needs to be regulated. Even if it cannot be guaranteed to be too high, it should not be lower than ten degrees, otherwise it may affect the normal growth process.

2. Lighting

When autumn just begins, the light is still quite strong, so be careful to block out the light. Under strong light, its leaves will turn yellow. Generally speaking, it is sufficient to place it in a brightly lit place indoors for maintenance.

3. Air humidity

When growing Areca palm, the humidity of the surrounding environment needs to be higher, preferably controlled at 70 to 80 percent. If the air is dry, you can spray some water. Too little humidity can cause the leaf tips to dry out.

4. Watering

Watering can be regulated according to the state of the surface soil, and water can be added after it dries. If it is a cloudy day, it is best not to water it yet. In late autumn, slowly reduce the amount of watering.

5. Fertilizer

In the fall, it requires very little fertilizer. If the growth is not good, you can apply fertilizer, but don't use too much.

6. Proper pruning

Before winter, prune the palm to help it survive the winter. Cut off diseased, insect-infested, weak, and dead branches, and cut off some of the overly dense and messy branches.
