How to grow carnations in autumn

1. Maintain temperature

Carnations have a certain degree of cold resistance, but it is not strong. If the temperature is lower than 9℃, it may affect its growth. In some northern regions, the temperature is low in autumn, so it needs to be put back indoors for maintenance in time to avoid being frozen by the low temperature outdoors.

2. Increase lighting

It is relatively light-loving and requires sufficient sunlight to grow. The light is not very strong in autumn, so it is best to keep it in a bright place such as a balcony to ensure that it can grow healthily.

3. Appropriate fertilization

Autumn is when its flowers have just withered, and the plant will enter a relatively weak state. Therefore, it is necessary to apply some flower fertilizer to it to provide it with nutrients and help it recover from this weak state.

4. Sowing

For some flower lovers who have seeds on hand, it is best to sow the seeds at this time. Because the temperature at this time is around 20℃, it is more suitable for germination. Specifically, first prepare some flower soil with good air permeability and put it in the flowerpot, then gently sprinkle the seeds on the soil surface and cover them with a thin layer of soil.
