How to grow green radish in winter

How to grow green radish in winter

1. Lighting

This plant is relatively shade-tolerant, so it is very suitable for indoor maintenance, but it also needs to receive sunlight regularly. There is not strong sunlight in winter, but it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time. It is generally placed in a bright living room or by the window to receive appropriate scattered light, or taken out to see the light in the morning and evening. The light intensity in the morning and evening is relatively weak, and it will not lose water.

2. Ventilation

Green plant maintenance requires good ventilation conditions to avoid diseases and pests. In winter, you should also pay attention to the temperature difference not being too large to avoid sudden drops in temperature. For example, when opening windows for ventilation, do not let cold wind blow directly onto the leaves. The leaves have a relatively high water content and may also suffer frost damage. If water has just been added to the pot, you should avoid direct cold wind.

3. Water and Fertilizer

In winter, the growth of the plants is very slow and almost stops, so reduce watering. First, evaporation slows down in winter, and the plant's water requirement also decreases. Excessive watering can easily cause waterlogging and root rot. Second, the temperature is low, and excessive watering can easily cause the plant to freeze.

Do not apply top dressing at this time. Stop applying fertilizer completely. Wait until the temperature rises in spring and stabilizes at around 15 degrees before gradually resuming nutrient supply.
