The most simple method of sowing, cutting, watering and composting, it only takes a few minutes

The simplest cutting method

This method of cutting is called "light kung fu floating on water". It is suitable for cuttings of most herbaceous and woody flowers such as roses, gardenias, kiln shrubs, tuberoses, chrysanthemums, etc. It is so simple that it almost flies!

Cutting method

1. Prepare a large tub or washbasin, foam box, glass box, etc. Any container will do. Fill the container with water.

2. Prepare some foam boards, break them into small pieces, and drill holes in the middle.

3. Prepare the branches to be cut and soak them in carbendazim for a few minutes.

4. Pass the branches through the foam board, place them on the water surface, and wait for them to take root!

5. If you want to observe the rooting situation, pick it up and take a look! Simple!

6. After a few weeks, the branches will take root, and then you can transplant them into the soil!

7. This method is simple and can provide relatively high humidity to the branches. It is very practical! That’s right! If you don’t have a tank at home, use basins, cans, plastic boxes, etc., whatever you have!

The simplest sowing method

The most tiring part of sowing is actually that you have to spray water every day to keep it moist. It’s really troublesome. The following sowing method is a bit similar to seedling blocks, but it can automatically absorb water and keep the substrate moist. There is no need to spray water every day, which is more worry-free than seedling blocks!

Sowing method

1. Collect plastic bottles, then split them in half from the middle, make a hole in the bottle cap, and pass a wool or cotton thread through it.

2. Fill the lower plastic bottle with half a bottle of water, and place the upper part upside down into the lower part as shown in the picture.

3. Fill it with nutrient soil, sprinkle the seeds, and wait for the seeds to germinate.

4. The water at the bottom will seep into the upper part through the wool and cotton thread, and the moisturizing effect is excellent. If there is no water at the bottom, just take it out and add water.

5. This method is also applicable to leaf cuttings of succulent plants!

The simplest composting method

I have introduced many composting methods to you before, such as fish intestines, kitchen waste, Chinese medicine residue, rotten leaves, etc. However, many flower lovers have reported that fish intestines, kitchen waste, Chinese medicine residue, etc. attract insects and have an extremely unpleasant smell, so they are not suitable for flower lovers living in buildings. Overall, rotten leaf compost is odorless and does not attract insects, so I strongly recommend it.

Composting Methods

1. Prepare a foam box, the one you usually use when buying fruits and seafood. You can buy one at the fruit market, or you can just use a bucket or something at home.

2. Collect a bunch of fallen leaves, fruit peels, melon seed peels, peanut peels, etc. It is best to dry them so that they are not easy to attract insects. Prepare some garden soil, or use leftover old soil.

3. Spread a layer of soil on the bottom of the foam box.

4. Cover the soil with a layer of fallen leaves. Broken leaves are best. If it is too troublesome to cut them into pieces, you can put them directly in the bag and crush them. If you still find it troublesome, you can just put them in the bag without stepping on them. Put fruit peels, melon seed peels, peanut skins, etc. on this layer as well.

5. After that, cover the fallen leaves with another layer of soil;

6. Then, cover the soil with another layer of fallen leaves. Repeat this cycle until 3 layers of fallen leaves are enough. The thickness of each layer of fallen leaves should not exceed half the thickness of each layer of soil, otherwise it will not be easy to decompose.

7. The top layer is covered with a layer of soil, which is twice as thick as the other layers of soil.

8. Cover the foam box and place it in the corner of the balcony or stair corridor. Don't worry about it. It can be used in about 4-6 months. During this period, open it and spray some water every 2 weeks to make the soil slightly moist. Open it and turn it over every month. Make the soil more evenly composted.

The simplest watering method

General watering method

1. Conventional watering method

To check the dryness of the topsoil 3 to 5 centimeters deep, you can use a toothpick, tweezers or your hands to test it. When the topsoil turns white or cannot be squeezed into a ball and no water comes out, and it is difficult to loosen the soil, you must water it thoroughly immediately, based on the water flowing from the outlet at the bottom of the pot.

This method is suitable for most plants, but it is only suitable for soil with good air permeability. This method cannot be used to judge clay that has strong water retention and is severely airtight!

2. Immersion pot watering method

When the topsoil becomes dry, place the flower pot in a basin of water and soak until the topsoil becomes moist. This is suitable for plants with easily rotten bulbs such as cyclamen and for situations where the soil does not have strong water retention capacity.

Special watering situations

Suitable conditions for keeping the soil moist:

1. After the plants are sown and before they emerge, the soil can be kept moist, mainly by spraying or watering with small amounts of water.

2. During the period from the cuttings of the plant to the confirmation of survival, the soil can be kept moist by spraying water or watering in small amounts, but it must be watered thoroughly.

3. For ferns and alocasia plants that like moisture, the soil can be kept dry and wet in the peak growth period, and generally moist. When it is time to water, water thoroughly, and the frequency of watering can be increased appropriately.

Suitable for keeping the soil dry:

1. For drought-resistant plants such as succulents, water them during the growing season to see if the surface soil is alternately dry and wet, but generally dry. The frequency of watering can be reduced appropriately, but it must be watered thoroughly when it is time to water.

2. For plants in a dormant state, such as fallen leaf dormancy, watering should depend on whether the topsoil is dry or wet. The soil should be slightly dry overall, but it must be watered thoroughly when watering is needed.

Water supply may be cut off in the following situations:

1. For plants with strong drought resistance, when they are dormant in winter, if the temperature is very low, below 4-5 degrees for a long time, and they are not affected by frost damage, you can cut off water for a long time as appropriate.

2. For Lithops, when they start to shed their skin, you must cut off the water supply. If you water them at this time, they will easily die.

The simplest fertilization method

The simplest way to fertilize is to make water-fertilizer directly. Fertilizing + watering are all done in one go! Many methods of making water fertilizers are troubled by the smell. The method Huahua teaches today is relatively odorless. If you know more methods of making odorless water fertilizers, you can tell me in the comments!

Preparation method

1. Pour some water into the empty milk or leftover yogurt box, shake it, pour the water into a plastic bottle, and then add rice water or egg shells into the plastic bottle. Finally, add some orange peel or tea leaves, or simply use a bottle of detergent to hold rice water or yogurt water, which will make it clean and fragrant.

2. Cover the bottle lightly without tightening it, and place it on the side of the balcony. Open the lid every 2-3 days to let it breathe. It will be ready to use after 2-3 weeks.

3. Note that you need to add water to dilute the fertilizer when applying it. Use the ratio of fertilizer water to clean water to water the flowers in a ratio of 1:5, then observe whether the flowers have any abnormal reactions. If there are no abnormalities, you can adjust the ratio to 1:4.

4. This method of making homemade flower fertilizer is relatively simple, and the fertilizer is nutritionally balanced. Note that any fertilizer should be applied thinly and frequently. Do not apply all the fertilizer at once, as this will cause root rot. In addition, do not apply fertilizer during the flower dormancy period, seedling stage, seedling growth period, and flowering period.
