How to store lemons

How to store lemons

Store at room temperature

If fresh lemons are stored directly at room temperature, they can be kept for about a month. However, it is necessary to ensure that the oxygen concentration in the storage area is not too low and the amount of carbon dioxide is not too high, so as not to affect the taste of the lemons. In addition, when purchasing lemons, you should choose lemons with hard and firm skin and sufficient weight to ensure that they are well developed for easy storage.

Lemon juice preservation

After squeezing the lemon juice, you can seal the cup with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator. However, in order to avoid the volatilization of vitamin C, you should try to drink it within 3 days.

Save directly after slicing

Wash the lemon and cut it into slices. Add appropriate amount of honey after cutting, and then seal and store directly in a container. At this time, seal it in the refrigerator and it will stay fresh for about a month.

Pickling

Wash and cut them, add white sugar or rock sugar and pickle them. When eating, you can take out the lemon slices and soak them in water to drink.

Seal with plastic wrap

If you don’t eat all of it the first time, you can cover the excess with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. However, in order to ensure taste and efficacy, it is still recommended to eat it quickly in a short time.

In summary, we have learned many ways to preserve lemons, but no matter which method is used, the value of lemons will be lost to a certain extent as time goes by. Therefore, in order to retain the high nutritional value of lemons as much as possible, they should be consumed as soon as possible.
