How to grow lotus palm

How to grow lotus palm

1. Temperature

If it is maintained indoors at a temperature above 8°C, it will grow better. If the temperature is below 8℃, it will enter a dormant state, and water and fertilizer should be controlled at this time. When the temperature is stabilized at around 15℃, it can grow normally.

2. Light

If conditions permit, we can place it outdoors where it will not be exposed to rain and allow it to grow in full sunlight. It requires sufficient light and can grow in an environment without direct light, but it will show changes such as excessive growth and discoloration. Except for the hot noon in summer, it can be exposed to the sun at all times.

3. Water

The water requirement is that it should be dry rather than wet, and the potting soil just needs to have a certain degree of moisture. When watering, be sure to water thoroughly and control the amount, keeping the soil generally dry. When watering, if water splashes onto the leaves to form water droplets, spots will easily appear under sunlight. Watering must be done slowly and carefully. It is best to water along the edge of the pot, or use the sitting water method.

4. Fertilizer

The requirements are not very strict, and too fertile soil will make it grow weak. Generally speaking, the potting soil should be changed every two to three years when it is maintained indoors, and replacing the new soil can almost meet its growth needs.

5. Pests and diseases

During maintenance, there may be pests and diseases such as scale insects and red spiders. We must avoid using foreign unclean flowers, soil, and flower pots for cultivation. We should observe more often and control it in time when it occurs.
