How to grow Ranunculus

How to grow Ranunculus

1. Breeding environment

1. Light: What you need to pay attention to when caring for Anemone is light management. It is a variety that likes light but is afraid of direct sunlight. Especially after entering April, the temperature rises and direct sunlight will accelerate the yellowing of leaves and cause the plant to enter dormancy early. So place it in a brightly lit area but away from direct sunlight.

2. Soil: Ranunculus requires loose, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Because it is a bulbous flower, the potassium content in the soil should be relatively high, especially potassium fertilizer, which is more conducive to the development of bulbs.

3. Temperature: Generally speaking, it can tolerate short-term low temperatures of zero degrees, but if the temperature is lower, it will suffer frost damage. Generally speaking, it likes a cool environment. As summer begins, dormant bulbs will appear, which spend the high temperature of summer in the soil. Therefore, when all its leaves turn yellow, you should cut off the water and place it in a ventilated environment. This way, it can safely survive the summer and enter the cool weather after September, and then grow again.

2. Repotting Method

During the dormant period, you can take it out of the original pot, remove the waste soil and dead roots, and replace it with new planting soil for planting. When planting, cover the bulbs of Anemone with soil about 1 to 2 fingers deep, then water them thoroughly, and gradually maintain them in an open-air environment.

If the potting soil is relatively dry, you can water it several times to allow the soil to gradually become moist to reach the normal maintenance level. If the amount of water is too large at one time and the soil is not absorbed well, part of the soil will become muddy, causing compaction, which is not conducive to its normal maintenance.
