How to care for forget-me-not

How to care for forget-me-not

1. Suitable substrate

Forget-me-nots have relatively high requirements for the substrate. The first requirement is good drainage, because it prefers dryness and cannot tolerate waterlogging. The second point is fertility, because it requires a lot of nutrients to grow. In order to provide it with more nutrients, it is best to mix some flower fertilizer into the soil as base fertilizer before planting. Furthermore, according to its habit characteristics, it is best to use alkaline soil.

2. Adequate light

It prefers sunlight, so during the maintenance process, it must be exposed to sufficient light. Normally, it should be kept in a place with enough diffuse light so that it can grow vigorously. However, in summer, you should also be careful to avoid too strong light, otherwise it will get sunburned.

3. Suitable temperature

It likes to grow in a warm environment, specifically 20-25℃ is the most suitable range. However, the temperature should not be higher than 30℃ in summer and lower than 5℃ in winter, otherwise it will be detrimental to its growth.

4. Appropriate amount of water

It prefers dry conditions and is afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, watering should be moderate, keeping the substrate slightly moist, but without any accumulation of water. When the light is better, you can water it more appropriately. Be careful to protect yourself from rain in summer.

5. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

In addition to mixing base fertilizer into the flower soil, top dressing should also be applied in a timely manner. Apply urea once when the young plants have six to eight leaves. During the flowering period, potassium dihydrogen phosphate should be applied two to three times to promote flowering.
