What is the role of egg shells in growing flowers

Eggshells can promote the growth and development of flower plants, which is mainly manifested in the following aspects.

1. Condition the soil

Eggshells are rich in nutrients, the main components of which are calcium carbonate and protein. After being ground into powder and added to the soil, they can adjust the pH value of the soil and increase the soil's water and air permeability. Eggshells cannot be used directly whether as containers or fertilizers, because there will be mucus from the egg white on the eggshells. If you put them directly into the soil, it will breed bacteria, causing rot and stench, and eventually cause diseases such as root rot. Clean the eggshells, expose them to the sun, then crush them into crushed shells or powder and add them to the soil. The crushed shells can enhance drainage, release phosphorus, increase nutrients in the soil, and promote root growth.

2. Make fertilizer

Eggshells are rich in nutrients, including calcium, zinc and other elements. They can be added to the soil as fertilizer to provide nutrients for the root system. Crush the dried eggshells and sprinkle them on the soil. You can also put the broken eggshells into a compost bin to make fertilizer and then use it. Do not use it on alkaline soil.

3. Make a container

The surface of the eggshell can be decorated. Clean half or a relatively complete eggshell and dry it, then make a small hole at the bottom. It can be used to grow smaller flowers, such as succulents.
