Do I need to learn how to do cuttings? Wrap a piece of "toilet paper" on the branches, and they will take root in 7 days without worry

However, although there are many benefits of cuttings, there are also many techniques that need to be learned. Most of the time, black belly will appear during cuttings. Is there any simple method of cuttings? Huahua asked some cuttings experts and found out that using a piece of toilet paper can save a lot of trouble.

Autumn and winter are the seasons when bougainvillea is in full bloom, so it is natural to have to take a few cuttings. When we are cutting bougainvillea, we can use the toilet paper cutting method, which will make the rooting and germination faster. When choosing cuttings for bougainvillea, old branches are generally used because old branches have stronger vitality and naturally germinate faster. It is best to trim the base of the branches into an oblique shape.

After selecting the branches, we can place them in rooting water and let them sit for a while. After standing still, when taking out the branches, we need to use toilet paper to wrap the bottom of the branches, but remember to only wrap the branches, and don't stuff leaves in. The next step is to spray the wrapped branches with water and then place them in a plastic bag.

We need to open the bougainvillea branches in the plastic bag frequently to check the dryness of the toilet paper inside. If it becomes dry, we need to spray some water on it. If you encounter hot weather, you can also open the plastic bag to let the branches inside breathe. If you continue this process for about a month, you will find that the bougainvillea has small white roots. We can then transplant the bougainvillea with small white roots into the soil of a flowerpot.

Note that the best soil for maintaining bougainvillea is sandy soil with good air permeability and drainage. Then gently place the rooted bougainvillea branches into the cutting soil, and the cutting work is complete. After cuttings, water the bougainvillea sufficiently and then place it in a ventilated and cool place for temporary maintenance.

Of course, the magical uses of toilet paper are not just in cuttings. When we use seeds to plant vegetables or fruit potted plants, we can also wrap the seeds with toilet paper first, then soak them in water, and then put the wrapped seeds in a plastic bag to keep them warm. After about 5 days, the small seeds will sprout, and the success rate of sowing will be greatly improved.

The above is the toilet paper cutting method mentioned by Huahua. Can it save a lot of effort? If you are a flower lover who wants to propagate plants by cuttings, you can try this method. If you have other tips for cuttings, you are welcome to share them with Huahua!
