How to care for and water daffodils?

If you want your home to be filled with the fragrance of flowers during the Spring Festival, planting daffodils is a good choice. Daffodils are famous for their strong plants, high-quality flowers, easy maintenance and luxuriant flowering. It is actually very simple to care for daffodils. Let’s learn how to care for and water daffodils.

Key points for daffodil care

1. Water appropriately

Daffodils do not need too much water, just make sure the water just covers the roots, just like giving them a "foot bath" instead of a "bath".

2. Adequate lighting

Daffodils need plenty of sunlight to produce their large, fragrant flowers.

3. Temperature control

Daffodils prefer a cool environment, and the suitable growth temperature is between 10-20℃. Avoid placing daffodils near high temperatures or direct heat sources as this may affect flowering.

4. Fertilization

Although daffodils do not require much fertilizer , applying some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers during the growth period can promote flowering and make the flowers more colorful.

Narcissus treatment and maintenance steps

1. Peeling: First, peel off the brown dry skin on the outer layer of the daffodil bulb.

2. Soak: Soak the bulbs in clean water for 24 to 48 hours to soften the bulbs and activate growth, then pour out the water and mucus.

3. Planting: Place the treated bulbs in a flowerpot and add water until the roots are just covered.

4. Change water: During the first 10 to 15 days of water culture, change the water every day to keep the water clean; thereafter, change the water every 2 to 3 days to maintain a suitable growth environment.

By following the above methods, you can ensure that daffodils will add a touch of floral fragrance to your home during the Spring Festival and bring a festive atmosphere. Do you like daffodils?
