Reasons for the shrinkage of the money tree trunk

Reasons for the shrinkage of the money tree trunk

1. Excessive watering

The shrinkage of the money tree trunk can basically be judged to be caused by the rot of the root system or rhizome. This phenomenon is caused by excessive watering resulting in water accumulation in the soil.

2. Root and rhizome infection

In addition to waterlogging in the soil, the shrinkage of its trunk may also be caused by wounds on the rhizomes during maintenance or repotting. If the mechanical damage is not treated in time, the infection along the wound will cause root rot, and the water transmission problem will cause the trunk to wither.

3. Solution

If you find that the trunk is shrinking, find out the cause in time. If the wound is infected, timely debridement and keeping the wound dry can effectively contain it. If it is caused by root rot, the rotten roots must be removed as soon as possible and intervention treatment must be carried out to control and restore the atrophied branches. If treated too late it may kill the entire plant.
