In autumn, many people want to grow a pot of orchids. Ordinary orchids are too common. Today Huahua recommends an orchid to you, which will make your orchid stand out. Its name is: Cymbidium.

When I typed its name, Huahua for some reason thought of the orchid that Li Dazui liked when he watched "Wulin Waijiao" as a child. Hahaha, I'm getting off topic. The flowers of Cymbidium are indeed larger than those of ordinary orchids, and it blooms in large numbers. Now, Huahua will tell you how to grow Cymbidium.

Plant cultivation is nothing more than starting from the growth habits. So how can we know how to cultivate cymbidium based on its growth habits?

Sunlight

Any plant needs sunlight during its growth process, and the same is true for Cymbidium. However, Cymbidium cannot be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time. If it is exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, the Cymbidium will be sunburned. Therefore, when cultivating on a daily basis, it is best to place the cymbidium in a place with scattered sunlight. This way, it can not only be exposed to the sunlight, but also not easily burned by the sun. In winter, you can place the cymbidium in a sunny place for a while, otherwise insufficient light will not be conducive to the growth of the plant.

soil

Cymbidium is not picky about the soil. The only requirement is that the soil should have good air permeability and drainage. When mixing the soil, you can add some other substances such as charcoal, which can not only improve the quality of the soil, but also promote the growth of cymbidium. If the soil has poor drainage, the roots of the cymbidium orchid will easily rot.

Watering

Cymbidium orchids should not be watered too much, as excessive watering may cause the soil to become moist and not dry. Long-term moisture is not conducive to the growth of Cymbidium orchids. Therefore, try to water as little as possible. During the growing season of Cymbidium, water it once a week. In summer, water it once a day. In winter, water it once every 5 days or so. It is best not to water it at a temperature that is too high or too low, which will affect the root development of the plant.

Fertilization

During the growing season, cymbidium orchids can be fertilized with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer, which can supplement the trace elements of cymbidium orchids and ensure the comprehensive nutrition of the plants. Generally, fertilizer can be applied every two weeks. Remember to fertilize before flowering to supplement nutrients for later flowering.

These are the basic daily maintenance methods. If you want to propagate cymbidium orchids, you can use the division method, which is convenient and simple.
