What to do if the tip of Silver Queen's leaves withers and turns black

One of the reasons why the leaf tips of Silver Queen wither and turn black

Dry air combined with strong light and high temperature is one of the reasons why the tips of Silver Queen leaves wither and turn black. This happens mostly in summer and autumn.

Silver Queen prefers an environment with relatively humid air and requires semi-shaded conditions. When cultivating Silver Queen, if the air is too dry, the sunlight is strong, and the temperature exceeds 30°C, it will easily cause the leaf tips of Silver Queen to wither and turn black.

At this time, you can place the Silver Queen in this semi-shaded place, cut off the dead leaves, spray water on the Silver Queen frequently to maintain humidity, and the newly grown leaves will return to normal.

The second reason why the leaf tips of Silver Queen wither and turn black

Waterlogging in the potting soil causes root rot of Silver Queen, and is also the reason why the leaf tips of Silver Queen wither and turn black. When growing Silver Queen, the soil may become compacted or watered too much, resulting in poor soil drainage. At this time, the roots of Silver Queen are prone to rot, and the ability to absorb water decreases, causing the leaf tips to turn black, wither, or even twist.

At this time, you can take out the Silver Queen plant, remove the soil, and then cut off the rotten roots. After drying, you can use clean wet sand to plant it. After the roots grow again, you can replace it with new culture soil for maintenance.

The third reason why the leaf tips of Silver Queen wither and turn black

If you do not change the pot for a long time when growing Silver Queen, the growth of the root system will be restricted. In high or low temperature weather, the tips of the Silver Queen's roots will become slippery, and the ability to absorb nutrients will be weakened, which will cause the leaf tips of the Silver Queen to wither and dry up.

At this time, you can take out the Silver Queen plant, cut off the old roots and necrotic roots, and cut off the withered leaves, then place it in a cool, semi-shaded place, remember to spray water, the plant can recover.
