How to grow Anthurium hydroponically

How to grow Anthurium hydroponically

1. Transplantation

First dig it out of the soil, then cut off the rotten roots and leaves, rinse it with water, disinfect it with disinfectant, and then wash it again with water. If you use a glass container to grow it, you can put a black plastic bag on the outside of the glass to prevent the light from being too strong, and then put a transparent plastic bag on it, and then place it in a place with scattered light and keep the temperature above 10 degrees.

2. Prepare nutrient solution

First check the condition of the nutrient solution, which usually needs to be replaced every 7 to 10 days. Then you need to remove the mucus and algae on the roots in time. In the summer, you can change the water more frequently, with every 2 to 3 days being the best. And each time you change the water, do not fill the plant too full to prevent the roots from rotting.

3. Adaptable environment

It likes warm and humid places and is very afraid of strong light, so when raising it, you should pay attention to its location. It is best to place it in a place with good ventilation and no strong light. Then in summer, the temperature should not be higher than 28 degrees, and the humidity of the air should be maintained at 80%. If it is too dry, you can spray water on its leaves appropriately. In winter, the temperature cannot be too low, otherwise frost damage will occur.

4. Reasonable oxygenation

When growing it in water, the oxygen content is very important. If there is insufficient oxygen, the roots will rot. Therefore, when growing it, you should use the vibration method. Hold the container in your hand and shake it gently a few times to increase the oxygen content.

5. Root repair

When growing hydroponically, the roots in the original soil must be removed so that it can grow new roots again.

6. Change water in time

Its roots are highly absorbent, so you need to change the water regularly and remove the mucus and algae on the roots. This will increase the oxygen content. It is usually best to change the water every 2 to 3 days. In winter, you can change the water once a week.
