How to make the hydroponic pennywort bloom

1. Suitable temperature

If you want the hydroponic pennywort to grow out of the pot, the temperature must meet its growth needs, especially when cultivated in the north, the temperature of the growth environment must be suitable for plant growth. Generally speaking, the indoor wintering temperature should be kept above 5 degrees. A short period of zero degrees is acceptable, or the leaves may be frostbitten, but the roots can still survive normally. However, it cannot tolerate long-term low temperatures of 0 degrees. It can only grow normally if the temperature is kept above 10 degrees.

2. Sufficient light

In order for the pennywort to bloom out of the pot, the light exposure time must be long enough, because it is a strong sun-loving plant. If the light exposure is too little or the light intensity is insufficient, it will grow too tall and thin, and the internodes will be too long, and the plant shape will be disordered and fail to achieve the effect of blooming out of the pot.

3. Adding matrix to water

If you want to make the pennywort grow out of the pot, it is not possible to grow it in water alone. You must add a certain amount of cultivation medium under the water. For example, granular soil, Akadama, Kanuma, crushed volcanic rocks used in gardening, and some materials like fairy soil or aquatic plant mud sold in the aquarium market can all be used as underwater cultivation media.

4. Pruning of inflorescences

Finally, if you want the pennywort to grow to the point where it overflows the pot, you must not let it bloom. Once you discover new inflorescences, you must cut them off in time to allow the nutrients to remain in the nutritional growth stage. Only in this way can it grow to the point where it overflows the pot. After these conditions are met, you can add some slow-release compound fertilizer to the water to make the fertilizer more sufficient, so that it will grow more luxuriantly and be more likely to bloom out of the pot.
