Topping and pinching of Kalanchoe

1. Topping

Pinching is usually done when the seedlings are about one month old and 12-15cm long after cuttings. Generally, pinching the seedlings 2-3 times is sufficient. If you like short and strong plants, you can pinch the tops earlier. If you like tall and upright plants, you can pinch the tops later.

2. Topping

Topping is a method used to increase the number of plants, usually done after pinching. After cutting off the top buds, re-cuttings will be carried out. Such new buds will grow better and faster when used as cuttings. It is usually done after pinching.

3. Maintenance points

When planting, be careful not to let the ambient temperature be too high, and it should not exceed 24°C in summer. Appropriate shading can be provided, and generally the light intensity can be maintained at 4-8 hours.
