Difference Between Clover and Oxalis

1. Different plant types

Trifolium, also known as clover and sweetwood, is a perennial herb belonging to the Fabaceae family and the genus Trifolium. It grows relatively tall, about 10-60 cm, and is widely distributed.

Oxalis is also called sour grass, nightshade, sour grass, trifoliate acid, hook grass, etc. It belongs to the Oxalidaceae and Oxalis genus. It is shorter than the former, about 10-35 cm tall, and the whole plant is covered with soft hairs.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of clover are oval, sometimes with slight depressions on the leaf surface, and have V-shaped spots on the leaf surface. The leaves are slightly larger than the latter, about 1.2-3 cm long and about 0.8-2 cm wide.

The leaves of Oxalis are heart-shaped and have three petals. The leaves are relatively small and the color is pure green without any spots.

3. Different flowers

The flowers of clover are terminal spherical, white or creamy yellow in color, some with a light pink color, and have a fragrance.

The flowers of Oxalis are umbels, the petals are yellow, and the filaments in the middle are white and translucent.
