How to grow elephant leg tree

How to grow elephant leg tree

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: To grow elephant leg trees, you need loose soil with good drainage. It can be prepared with garden soil and coal slag, and an appropriate amount of bean cake or chicken manure can be added as base fertilizer.

2. Fertilization: Fertilize 1-2 times a month during the growth period. You can use nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer, and potassium fertilizer. Do not apply too much fertilizer, as too much may cause fertilizer damage.

3. Temperature: Provide it with a growing environment of 18-27℃, and the temperature in winter should not be lower than 10℃. If the temperature is too low, it will stop growing, and it will cause root rot and even plant death.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Seed propagation: Before sowing, the seeds must be disinfected and germinated. Then place the seeds on the surface of the substrate and cover them with a layer of soil. After sowing, spray water appropriately, but not too much water to avoid washing the seeds away, which will affect the survival rate.

2. Propagation by cuttings: Choose strong young branches or old stumps for cuttings. The length should be about 5-15 cm, and each section should have 3 leaf nodes. The cut at the top of the cuttings should be flat, and the bottom should be cut obliquely. If the temperature is low after cutting, use film to keep warm.

3. Common pests and diseases

Common diseases of the elephant's foot tree include leaf spot disease, bacterial soft rot, etc. After the plants are infected with diseases, they should be sprayed with pesticides regularly and maintained.
