How to grow lilies in water

1. Prune the bottom branches

First, it needs to be trimmed before insertion. The specific method is to use a sharp knife to cut a small section at an angle at the bottom of the plant, and then insert it into the water. After that, regular pruning is also important. Trim every two to three days. Each time you trim, just cut off one to two centimeters from the bottom. Doing this can replace the part that absorbs water, which will help the plant grow more vigorously and extend the flowering period.

2. Change water regularly

Plants grown in water must have their water changed regularly. However, the specific number of water changes needs to be determined according to the temperature. Generally speaking, the higher the temperature, the more often you need to change the water. When the temperature is above 20 degrees, change it every two to three days. When the temperature is 15 to 20 degrees, change it every three days to a week. If the temperature is lower, you can basically change it once a week.

3. Use nutrient solution

Many nutrients needed by plants are not contained in water, so nutrient solution is needed to supplement them. The nutrient solution sold in the market can be used. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate can also be added to water. You can also use rice water, sugar water, etc.

4. Placement

Also pay attention to the specific placement of the plants. The main consideration is light, which should be diffuse light. During the flowering period, more light exposure time is needed, about six hours. In addition, ventilation should be good.
