1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: To grow boxwood trees, you need to use fertile, breathable soil.

2. Watering: It likes moisture and should be watered in time, but water should not accumulate. It needs a lot of water during its growth period, so you can water it more often. Stop watering in the later stages of growth to avoid excessive growth. Watering should not be done at noon when the temperature is high. It is best to water in the morning or at night.

3. Fertilization: Apply fully decomposed cake fertilizer water 2-3 times during the growth period of the boxwood tree. Do not apply too much fertilizer. Base fertilizer can be applied once in winter.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Seed propagation: Collect seeds in September and October and sow them in fertile soil. Apply fertilizer once in the early spring of the second year, and cover the soil to keep it moist. When the seedlings grow to 3-4 cm, they can be transplanted.

2. Cutting propagation: Cutting can be carried out in March or August. Use the stems of seedlings as cuttings, cut off the leaves at the bottom and keep only the leaves at the top. Insert it about 3 cm into the soil, water it thoroughly and provide appropriate shade. You can spray it with water more often to increase the humidity of the air.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Disease: A common disease of boxwood is sooty mold, which can cause leaf fall. Spray water on the leaves frequently to wash away the adsorbed dust, which can help it grow better.

2. Pests: Common pests are scale insects or boxwood crabs. If the situation is not serious, they can be removed manually or sprayed with DDT or omethoate.
