How to grow Clivia to make it flourish

1. Suitable temperature

It likes a moist and semi-shady environment and is very afraid of the cold. When the temperature is below 5 degrees, it will enter a dormant period. Therefore, the best temperature for its growth is between 15 and 25 degrees. If it is greater than 30 degrees, the plant will stop growing and the leaves will become very long and dense, greatly reducing its ornamental value. Therefore, in summer, it is necessary to provide it with appropriate shade and sprinkle water on the surrounding ground to achieve the effect of lowering the temperature. Then after winter, give it a month of low temperature environment, with 5 degrees being the best temperature, and then gradually increase the temperature to facilitate its flowering.

2. Suitable humidity

When it is in a higher temperature environment, you can increase the humidity. For example, when the temperature is 25 degrees, the humidity can be maintained at 50%. When the temperature reaches 30 degrees, the humidity needs to be increased to 65%. This can meet the leaves' needs for water, but the humidity cannot be higher than 90%, otherwise it will cause the leaves to grow too long.

3. Suitable lighting

It likes diffuse light and doesn't like strong light. When caring for it indoors, it only needs to meet general lighting requirements, but the indoor light should not be too dark, otherwise it will affect the glossiness of the leaves. At the same time, it should not be exposed to strong light, especially in summer, and it should be properly shaded, otherwise yellow-brown spots will appear on the leaves.

4. Watering is appropriate

The amount of water it needs is different at different times. In spring, if it is grown indoors, you can water it alternately between dry and wet seasons. If it is grown outdoors, you can replenish water in time as needed. In summer, water the plants appropriately and sprinkle water on the ground next to the pot to lower the temperature. In winter, you need to reduce the amount of watering appropriately, but the specific amount of water should be adjusted according to the temperature.

5. Apply fertilizer appropriately

It doesn't like fertilizer very much, but before it blooms, it needs to be given more fertilizer, mainly decomposed organic fertilizer. In spring, base fertilizer should be added in conjunction with repotting. At the same time, spring and autumn are the periods of its most vigorous growth, so you should apply more fertilizer to it. Then in summer and winter, you can reduce the amount of fertilizer appropriately to avoid fertilizer damage.
