How often should you water succulents?

1. According to the size of the plant

If it is a small seedling, the general approach to watering is "small amounts but high frequency". You can water it once a day, but not too much. However, for adult plants, the general approach is to "water more at a time and at longer intervals." It can be done once a week or so, but the amount of watering at one time is more. If it is an old stump, then you just need to water it thoroughly, once or twice a month will be enough.

2. According to the state of the soil

This is also a good way to tell if it needs watering. The time it takes for the soil to dry out will vary depending on a variety of factors. If the soil is observed to be drying out, then it is time for the next watering.

3. According to the change of seasons

The frequency of watering is naturally different in different seasons. The frequency is similar in spring and autumn, about once a week. If ventilation is good, it can be done once every three or four days. In summer, the plant will go dormant when the temperature is high, but the frequency should not be too high, generally once every half a month to twenty days. The temperature is low in winter and they will also hibernate, with a frequency similar to that in summer.

4. According to soil and container

If the soil contains more particles, the water permeability will be relatively good, so the watering interval should be shortened. Containers also have a big impact. If you use a ceramic pot to grow plants, they will easily lack water. Size also has an impact, with larger diameters evaporating faster and therefore requiring shorter watering intervals.
