How to grow mint vigorously

How to grow mint vigorously

1. Suitable soil

If you want mint to grow vigorously, the most important thing is to choose nutrient-rich soil. Secondly, the soil must have good drainage and be alkaline. It can be made by mixing leaf mold, garden soil and coarse sand.

2. Loosen the soil and change the pot regularly

Repotting is about once a year. Take place in spring. The new soil also needs to be fertile and loose. Soil scarification can be done from time to time without fixed intervals. While loosening the soil, you can add some new soil or apply some fertilizer.

3. Suitable temperature

Warmth is best, specifically within 20 to 30 degrees. It should not be too high or too low, otherwise it will inhibit the growth of the plant.

4. Plenty of sunlight

Light is very important. If you want the plant to grow vigorously, you must provide sufficient light. During the growth period of the plant, place it in a well-lit location so that it can receive sufficient light. Even in summer, there is no need to worry about the light being too strong.

5. Sufficient water

The demand is particularly high during the growth period. Just a few days without watering can cause the soil to dry out very quickly. Therefore, when you find that the soil in the pot is dry, you should add water in time.

6. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

In order to make the plants grow more vigorously, fertilization is also necessary. It is mainly applied when the growth is fast, but the amount should be small and the concentration should not be too high.

7. Prune at the right time

It can be done in spring together with repotting. After cutting off the messy branches and old branches, the new branches will grow particularly vigorously.
