Growth environment conditions and requirements of Schefflera

Schefflera arborvitae, also known as Schefflera arborvitae, is native to the South Pacific Islands and is often found in broad-leaved forests in low mountain areas. The plant prefers a warm, humid, semi-sunny climate and has a strong adaptability to light. It can grow in full-sun or semi-sun environments.

Schefflera growth temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for Schefflera is 16-27℃. The plant is heat-resistant but not cold-resistant. The minimum safe temperature for wintering is 5℃. When the temperature is below 0℃, leaves will fall and the plant may be frostbitten.

Schefflera growth humidity

Schefflera likes moisture and is afraid of dryness. It also has certain requirements for air humidity. It can only grow vigorously in an environment with high air humidity and high soil moisture content, but it must not be waterlogged.

Schefflera growing soil

Schefflera likes fertile, loose, well-drained sandy soil, preferably slightly acidic. When potting, it can be prepared with peat soil, leaf mold, and coarse sand.

Schefflera growth cycle and process

The plant of Schefflera grows very fast and goes through several stages including germination, seedling stage, flowering and fruiting stage, and withering stage. It takes about 2-3 years from planting to flowering, and the flowering period is around November.
