How to fertilize Dendrobium

1. Topdressing conditions

First, make sure the temperature is between fifteen and thirty, which is more suitable for top dressing. If it is not within this range, you need to be cautious. Nitrogen fertilizer can be added during the growing season, and potassium and phosphorus fertilizer can be added when it blooms and fruits. Top dressing should not be done at noon in summer or autumn, and is best done in the evening when there is no sun.

2. Topdressing method

First, dig the soil around it, then put the fertilizer in, and then fill the soil and water it. If it is a water-soluble fertilizer, you can try dissolving it with water and then sprinkle it on the leaves or water it directly with water.

4. Notes

① It will stop growing during the dormant period, and its metabolism and photosynthesis will be relatively poor. If we add fertilizer to it, its dormancy will be broken, and it will be difficult for the plant to continue growing. In this way, the nutrients of the plant will also be consumed, and flowering will be affected in the second year.

② Do not apply fertilizer when it is blooming, otherwise the flowers and fruits will fall off, and in serious cases the plant may even die.

③ Do not apply fertilizer to newly planted plants, because they have many wounds, which will be difficult to heal after being irritated and the roots will rot.

④ Do not apply fertilizer below its roots, as it will be difficult for it to absorb and utilize. Apply fertilizer at a place far away from its roots according to the growth of the plant.

⑤ Do not apply concentrated fertilizer or raw fertilizer to it, otherwise it will wither and die, and there will be a bad smell.

⑥ Pay attention to comprehensive nutrition. If only nitrogen fertilizer is applied, its flowering time will be delayed and the flowers will not grow beautifully.

⑦ Do not apply fertilizer to sick and weak plants at will, as it will be harmful to them. There is no need to fertilize it during the seed stage. Wait until real leaves grow before fertilizing it.
