The correct way to fertilize melon

Apply sufficient base fertilizer: When planting melons, you need to apply sufficient base fertilizer, and ensure that it is well-rotted organic fertilizer, diammonium phosphate, potassium sulfate or three-element compound fertilizer.

Reasonable topdressing: During the growth period of melon, the demand for fertilizer is high. 1000 kg/mu of decomposed human manure or 10 kg/mu of triple compound fertilizer (or urea) can be applied per mu. At the same time, urea and potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be used as foliar topdressing 2-3 times.

Things to note when applying fertilizer to melon

When planting melon crops, apply a balanced compound fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the early growth stage, and supplement with high-phosphorus and high-potassium compound fertilizers in the early flowering stage. Phosphorus fertilizer can promote more flowering, and potassium fertilizer can promote more melons.
