How to raise a bear paw

How to raise a bear paw

1. Breeding environment

1. Potting soil: It is best to use ceramic or tile flower pots, which have good air permeability and can use sandy soil with good air permeability.

2. Watering: No need to water when the soil in the pot is moist. It is best to water in the morning or evening. Do not water at noon when the temperature is high. If water is spilled on the leaves, they will easily become dry and rotten.

3. Sunlight: With sufficient sunlight, its leaves will be fuller and the red claws will appear more easily. If there is not enough sunlight, it will be difficult for the red claws to appear.

4. Fertilization: Fertilize the Bear's Paw once a month. You can use diluted cake fertilizer water or special fertilizer. If there is insufficient sunlight, excessive fertilizer will cause the internodes to become longer.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Propagation by cuttings: Cut healthy and full branches, place them in a ventilated place to dry, then insert the branches into the prepared soil, and finally place them in a cool place and wait for them to take root. Try not to place it in a place exposed to direct sunlight as it will easily cause it to dry out. After the branches have taken root, you can maintain it normally.

2. Seed propagation: Put the seeds in a container with some water, cover it and place it in a shaded place. After the seeds grow, move them to a flowerpot. Seedlings will grow after 7-15 days.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Wilt disease: It can make the leaves of Bear's Paw turn yellow and may also wither. If it is serious, it is likely to be fatal. Once discovered, you can spray it with 800 times diluted 50% carbendazim.

2. Leaf spot disease: It will cause spots on the leaves and greatly affect its ornamental value. It can also be sprayed with 800 times diluted 50% carbendazim.
