How to repot and transplant white palm

How to repot and transplant white palm

1. Time to change pots

White calla lilies grow relatively fast, so they need to be replaced every one to two years. When the plant's branches and leaves are too dense, with the ratio to the pot being three to one, it's time to change it. The best time is spring, specifically from March to May. However, if the plant grows too fast, you can replace it in autumn. When repotting, you can combine it with pruning. In the interval between two repottings, you can loosen the soil from time to time.

2. Specific steps

(1) Remove the plant from the pot, clean the old soil around the roots, and then rinse the roots with clean water. Afterwards, cut off all old and rotten roots.

(2) Planting: Place the plants in the planting basket and secure them. If you want to grow the plants hydroponically later, you can add some pebbles into the hydroponic container (if the container is a narrow-mouthed bottle, you can directly use the pebbles to fix it without a planting basket), and then put the plants in. If you want to grow the plant in soil later, you need to prepare loose new soil and a larger pot that is suitable for the current size of the plant. Put a part of the original soil in the center, put the plant in, fill it with new soil, and then water it thoroughly until the excess water flows out from the bottom of the pot.

3. Notes

(1) Pay attention to the weather when repotting; it is best to do it on a cloudy day. However, sunny days are also acceptable as long as the roots are not damaged.

(2) If the plant is grown in soil, the new pot should be larger than the original one, because the plant will continue to grow and sufficient space must be provided.
