What soil should be used to grow white palm

What soil should be used to grow white palm

1. Soil requirements

(1) Looseness: Meeting this requirement will help the white calla lily to breathe freely and grow smoothly.

(2) Good drainage: Anthuriums are particularly afraid of waterlogging and cannot tolerate accumulation of water, so attention must be paid to the drainage.

(3) Good air permeability: This prevents the soil from clumping and facilitates root breathing, thereby promoting growth.

(4) Contains a lot of humus: Nutrition is also very important and directly affects whether the plant can grow healthily in the future. Therefore, the soil contains more humus.

2. What soil to use

Based on the above requirements, soil that is too sticky cannot be used, and sandy soil can be used. Specifically, you can mix leaf mold and peat soil evenly, and then add some river sand or perlite, accounting for about a quarter. In addition, in order to ensure adequate nutrient supply, you can also add some basal fertilizer, such as bone meal, cake crumbs, etc., but not too much.

3. Application during potting

Not only do you need to pay attention to soil selection when you first plant the plants, you also need to pay attention when you repot them. It needs to be replaced every one or two years. In early spring, before new buds sprout in large numbers, you can change the pot. Trim the roots, then pour out some of the old soil and replace it with new soil. When choosing new soil, the requirements are basically the same. If necessary, you can replace the pot altogether. For example, when the white calla lily grows up, it needs to be moved to a larger pot.
