How to grow Christmas cactus until it overflows the pot

How to grow Christmas cactus until it overflows the pot

1. Light

In order for the pot to bloom, sufficient light is necessary. However, this does not mean that the longer the lighting time, the better. On the contrary, this is a short-day plant, so the light exposure time should not exceed ten hours. If it does not bloom well, you can check whether its location is suitable.

Generally speaking, indoor places with good lighting are most suitable. The light is neither too strong nor too weak, which is just right for it to bloom. However, after flowering, in order to prolong the flowering time, you can place it in a cooler place. However, after dark, it should not be exposed to strong light, as this is not conducive to the formation of flower buds, and there is no way it will bloom.

2. Temperature

Naturally, the most suitable temperature is conducive to its blooming. If the temperature is too low, it will take a long time for it to bloom; if the temperature is too high, it will bloom for a relatively short time. So, generally speaking, it is not conducive to its blooming. The best is in the fifteen to twenty-five range.

3. Moisture

The general principle is to provide it with the necessary water, but avoid stagnant water. Wait until the soil in the pot is relatively dry before watering again. Generally speaking, it is once every seven to ten days, and the frequency may be slightly higher when the temperature is high.

4. Pot soil and fertilizer

The choice of flower soil is also of great significance to its blooming. It is best to choose loose soil with rich nutrients and good drainage. These are the most basic requirements. According to its characteristics, another requirement is that it is acidic. In addition, some base fertilizer should be placed at the bottom, such as some decomposed fertilizer or animal manure. Before flowering, some phosphorus fertilizer needs to be used to encourage it to bloom.
