How to repot fuchsia

How to repot fuchsia

1. Time selection

Repotting is also an indispensable part of the maintenance of this plant. From the seedlings after cuttings to the seedlings after sowing, all of them need to be repotted several times. Specifically, spring and autumn are the most suitable time of year, before the buds sprout. However, it is more common to do it in autumn.

2. Container selection

When repotting, it is not enough to just change the soil, it is best to change the pot as well. It is best to change the pot to a larger one, from a small pot to a medium pot, and then to a large pot, slowly getting bigger as the plant grows.

3. Soil selection

First of all, it has to be fertile, which will help the plant recover as quickly as possible. The second is to make the plant loose, so that it can breathe better, otherwise it is likely to die after repotting. The third is good drainage. Based on the above requirements, leaf mold, sandy loam, some decomposed organic fertilizers and fertilizers containing sufficient P elements can be evenly mixed to use as culture soil. There is no need to apply basal fertilizer, otherwise root rot may occur.

4. Repotting and subsequent treatment

First, remove the plant. If you don't want to change the pot, pour out the old soil and replace it with new soil. If you have prepared a new pot, put new soil in it. Then, plant the plant in new soil. After the replacement, the seedlings need to go through a process of acclimatization. Fertilizer should be applied once every ten days, such as thin cake fertilizer or mixed fertilizer. Then there is the light, which also needs to be sufficient but not too strong, so that recovery is easier. The most important thing is water and fertilizer. This ensures that the plant will recover quickly.
