unbelievable! 7 ways to grow flowers with just one plastic bottle!

Flower cultivation method 1: Rose cuttings

Many flower lovers have complained that rose cuttings are difficult and they are worried sick. However, they still can’t avoid black stems, no roots, and root rot, which makes them very worried. Huahua specially learned a method of rose cuttings from the old gardener downstairs. It is very simple, with a 100% survival rate, and only requires a plastic bottle!

1. Cut rose branches

Cut off a sturdy rose branch, cut it at a 45-degree angle, and the length should be about 8 cm.

2. Insert the branches into the flower pot, or plant them directly in the ground

Insert the branches into the soil at a depth of 2-3 cm, water them thoroughly, and then you can put them in a flowerpot. If you want to plant them in the ground, just insert them directly where you want to plant them, so there is no need to transplant them.

3. Put the plastic bottle on the rose branch

Cut off the thinner part closer to the bottle mouth, which accounts for about 1/4 of the bottle body, and then attach it to the branch. There is no need to poke a hole in the bottle body. Just remove the plastic bottle when watering and keep it on at other times.

4. After 15 days, new leaves emerge from the branches

Generally, after 15 days, the rose will grow new leaves. However, the soil must be kept moist during this period. If the soil is dry, water it in time and remove the plastic bottle before watering.

It’s best to find a large bottle, otherwise you’ll end up touching the leaves every time.

5. Continue to deduct for 10 days, then remove it completely

After the new leaves of the rose grow out, continue to use the plastic bottle to cover it for 10 days. After 10 days, you can remove the plastic bottle completely! The survival rate of rose branches grafted in this way is 100%, the leaves are emerald green, and there is no need to worry about black stems!

Flower cultivation method 2: Making green radish columns

You can make a green radish column with just a few plastic bottles, it’s super easy to make! The green radish grows more and more vigorously, its leaves are bright green, and it can climb 10 meters!

1. Cut off the bottom of the bottle and poke a hole in the bottle

Find a clean plastic bottle, try to find a relatively sturdy bottle. After removing the bottle cap, cut off the bottom of the bottle first, and then use a red-hot iron chopstick to burn 20 evenly sized holes in the bottle body.

2. Stand the bottle in the basin

Place pine needles at the bottom of the pot and stand the plastic bottle in the center of the pot.

3. Plant green radish

Fill the pot with soil, fill the plastic bottle with pine bark or pine needles, let the bottle stand firmly in the pot, then plant the green ivy around it and water it.

4. Insert the second plastic bottle onto the first bottle

Find a second plastic bottle that is slightly larger in diameter than the first one. Poke a hole in the bottle body, cut off the bottle mouth and bottom, and insert it into the mouth of the first bottle.

5. Add pine bark to the second bottle

Fill the second bottle with pine bark to allow it to stand firmly, and you can add a small amount of cake fertilizer.

6. Wrap the Palm

Wrap the mineral water bottle with palm bark, usually 2 layers are enough, then tie it with a rope a few times to secure it.

7. You can continue to insert bottles later

The vines of this pot of green ivy are still relatively short, so two plastic bottles are enough. When the green ivy grows up, you can continue to insert bottles to make the green ivy column taller.

Flower cultivation method 3: Make a textured flower pot

When it comes to using plastic bottles as flower pots, some flower lovers will say they are ugly. That’s because you didn’t choose the right bottles. If you choose some beverage bottles with more texture, you can turn them into beautiful flower pots by cutting them twice.

1. Find your favorite beverage bottle

Just like the two bottles below, the color is quite nice and the bottles are also quite sturdy.

2. Cut a knife and poke a hole in the bottle

This beverage bottle is suitable for making a horizontal flower pot. First, cut a rectangular opening on the bottle body, and then poke a few small holes on the side of the pot bottom to allow water to flow through.

3. Cut the edges into teeth

To make the flower pot look better, you can cut the edges into beautiful serrations, which will give it a more layered look than without cutting.

4. Plant flowers

Just plant the flowers. This color of bottle looks good with any flowers!

Flower cultivation method 4: automatic water-absorbing flower pot

Sometimes when I go on a long trip, I don’t have time to water the flowers, and I’m always worried that they will die of drought. In fact, you can just use a plastic bottle to water them! Let’s take a look at how the automatic water-absorbing flower pot is made!

1. Pass the cotton thread through the bottle cap

Cut the plastic bottle into two parts, poke a hole in the bottle cap, pass the cotton thread through it, and plant succulents in the part with the bottle cap. Fill the other part of the bottle with water and put the other end of the cotton thread in to absorb the water.

2. Insert the bottle cap into the bottom of the bottle

Insert the part of the bottle where the succulents are planted into the other part, so that the water at the bottom of the bottle will slowly seep into the soil through the cotton thread, keeping the soil slightly moist, and the succulents will definitely grow well!

Flower-Growing Method 5: Automatic Watering Device

In addition to automatic water-absorbing flower pots, plastic bottles can also be used as automatic watering devices. Even if you go far away, you don’t have to worry about the flowers at home dying of drought, which makes you feel at ease!

1. Make small holes at the bottom and mouth of the bottle

Fill a plastic bottle with water, about 80% full, screw on the cap to prevent leakage, then poke small holes in the cap and the bottom of the bottle with a needle. Don't make the holes too big, just enough for water to flow out.

2. Insert into the flower pot upside down

Place the bottle mouth down in the flower pot, then insert a wooden stick into the soil to support the plastic bottle. In this way, the water will slowly flow into the soil!

Flower cultivation method 6: Succulent watering tool

Some succulents have hairs, so when watering, you must make sure the leaves are not stuck to water, otherwise they will easily rot. It would be great if you had a pointed and thin watering tool. As long as you have a plastic bottle, Huahua guarantees that you can make it!

1. The paper is formed into a cone

Find a piece of paper and fold it into a cone shape.

2. Apply tape

Stick the tape to the cone, especially the pointed end, to make it stronger.

3. Use fire to soften the bottle cap

Use a lighter to soften the bottle cap, being careful not to catch fire. Then insert a cone of paper into the bottle cap and pull it to lengthen it. Once you have adjusted the desired length and tilt angle, set it aside to cool completely.

4. Pull out the cone paper

After cooling, pull out the paper and cut off a little bit of the tip of the bottle cap so that it is water-permeable.

5. The flower watering tool is ready

Fill the bottle with clean water, screw on the bottle cap, and then water the succulents. You don’t have to worry about water getting on the leaves!

Flower cultivation method 7: high pressure breeding

Source: Changchang Garden

Flower lovers who are always unsuccessful in cuttings can try the high-pressure method, especially for flowers that are not easy to root through cuttings, such as figs, grapes, woody hydrangeas, etc. Using the high-pressure method will greatly increase the rooting survival rate!

1. Prepare tools

Prepare mineral water bottles, knives, scissors, tape, peat soil or sphagnum moss, etc.

2. Use a pen to draw the ring stripping line

Choose strong branches with a diameter of more than 0.5 cm. Use a black pen to draw the position of the ring. The distance between the two lines should be about 1 cm.

3. Ringing branches

Use a knife to peel off the bark until the white part of the branch is exposed. Be gentle and take your time.

4. Cut open the plastic bottle

Cut the plastic bottle open. The bottom part of the bottle, about 12 cm high, should be used. Then cut once on the side and make a round hole at the bottom for the branches to pass through.

5. Put the bottle on the branch

Place the bottle over the ringed branch and tape the side cuts closed.

6. Pour the peat soil into the bottle

You can roll a paper tube and pour the peat soil into the bottle, and then add some sphagnum moss, which will be more conducive to rooting. The soil should cover the area 2 cm above the ring barking opening.

7. Winding wire

Tie the plastic bottle with wire to secure the plastic bottle and soil together.

8. Watering

Pour water into the plastic bottle and make sure it is thoroughly poured.

9. Tie a plastic bag on the bottle mouth

Find a plastic bag and tie it to the mouth of the bottle. It can keep warm and reduce water loss. Keep the soil moist during the rooting process.

10. Take root after 1 month

After about a month, you can see through the plastic bottle that a lot of roots have grown inside the bottle. Then you can remove the plastic bottle and cut off the branches.

11. Transplant into pots

After cutting the branches, you can put them in pots. After potting, you can cut off some leaves to make the flowers adapt to the pot faster.

Plastic bottles have so many wonderful uses.

Don't throw it away casually in the future.
