100% survival gardenia cutting method

1. Prepare a large beverage bottle, a foam board, tape, and scissors.

2. Cut the plastic bottle open, but don't cut it all off. Leave a piece uncut. Cut the foam board into a circle with a diameter slightly smaller than the bottle.

3. Cut the gardenia branches, remove some leaves near the bottom, and insert them into the foam board.

4. Fill the bottle with water, put the foam board and gardenia into the bottle, then close the bottle and seal it with tape. Put the bottle cap on and poke two or three small holes in the cap.

5. Place the bottle in a location with scattered light and wait for it to take root. There is no need to change the water during this period. It will take less than half a month to take root.

6. After the roots grow, don't rush to plant them. Give the seedlings some buffer time. Open the upper part of the plastic bottle to allow air to flow, let it dry for 1 to 2 days, and then transplant it into the pot.

Tips for caring for gardenia

1. Soil acidity and alkalinity

If the leaves of your gardenia are turning yellow, it could be because the soil is not acidic enough or is lacking in iron. You can use 0.5 grams of citric acid, add 2.5 grams of ferrous sulfate, mix with 1 liter of water, shake well and water the flowers. Use it 3 to 4 times a month.

2. Moisturizing

Gardenia likes a humid air environment. You can spray water mist on the leaves and around the flowerpot to humidify them in the evening. In summer, spray it morning and evening.

3. Water temperature

When spraying or watering gardenias, it is best to use sun-dried water. You can usually fill a plastic bucket with water and place it on the balcony to dry, which is very convenient to use.

That’s all about the tips for caring for gardenias.
