How to grow gardenia in summer

How to grow gardenia in summer

1. Temperature

As we said above, it likes a warm environment. Specifically, the range is from eighteen to twenty-two degrees. In summer, temperatures in some areas are bound to rise above this range. So, in order to ensure the normal growth, development and flowering of the plants, appropriate cooling measures must be taken when the temperature is very high. For example, place it indoors and ventilate it at appropriate times.

2. Moisture

Because its water demand is high at this time, the amount and frequency of water replenishment must be increased accordingly. If evaporation is fast, you can water it once or twice a day. However, if the ventilation is not very good and the evaporation is not fast, then it can be done once every two days. You need to pay attention to the watering time, water in the morning and evening, and never water at noon. The humidity of the air also needs attention. Normally, you can spray some water into the air or pour some water on the leaves.

3. Light

This plant doesn't like strong light. In summer, the light can sometimes be very strong, so proper shade must be provided. Otherwise, the plant may wilt. Put it in a place with scattered light to meet your needs. Be careful not to let direct sunlight shine on it.

4. Fertilizer

It is in its growth stage now and requires a relatively large amount of fertilizer. In principle, fertilizer can be applied once every ten days to promote its growth. However, since it is summer, we still have to take the temperature into consideration and do not apply fertilizer when the temperature is high. Specifically, when the temperature is above thirty-five degrees, you can stop fertilizing.
