How to trim the pennywort

How to trim the pennywort

1. How to prune

There is no need for a specific time to prune its branches and leaves. You can prune them as long as the leaves grow densely. It branches easily and grows along a horizontal plane, so when planting, there should be enough distance between each plant so that the leaves can spread out. Helping it to be pruned can promote the growth of its branches and make it grow stronger.

If it has just been planted for a year, don't cut its head yet. Wait until its base roots grow a section, and then cut it off after the base roots become old in the second year. If the plant has been grown for a long time, it can be beheaded. Specifically, remove its head, but don't remove too much, then it will look more beautiful.

The cut branches can also be used for cuttings. First prepare a few pots and insert the cut branches into them. It won’t take long for them to grow out. If they grow lush again, you can continue to cut them for cuttings.

2. Pay attention to pruning

1. After beheading it, you need to take good care of it. First, put it in the room for a few days. After the cut is slightly dry, put it in the sun. Even if it is directly exposed to the sun, it is okay. Control watering moderately and don't water it until the soil is dry.

2. If you keep it in the sun, you need to add potassium fertilizer appropriately, otherwise it will turn yellow due to the sun. If it is a severe winter, make sure the temperature is 5-10 degrees. It is relatively drought-resistant and there should not be water accumulation for a long time. It should not be too wet, otherwise the roots will easily rot. Also, don't touch its leaves often, as this will hurt it. When watering it, don't spill water on it. Water it thoroughly and don't water it if it's not dry.
