Give the jasmine a few cuts and add some feed, and it can bloom five waves of flowers in a year!

prune

1. Trim off the withered flowers, count 2 to 3 pairs of leaves from the withered flowers, and then cut them off. The reason for cutting it off is to reduce nutrient consumption! The jasmine in Huahua’s office is basically cut off as soon as a flower falls!

2. Cut off the overgrown branches. Some branches grow very fast and leaving them there will waste nutrients, so they should be cut off.

3. Cut off overlapping and parallel branches. Overlapping branches will affect the lighting conditions of other branches.

Fertilization

Jasmine likes a lot of fertilizer, especially when it is blooming. Therefore, fertilizer should be applied about once every 7 days. Fertilizers can be chosen from well-rotted bean cakes, rapeseed cakes, etc. Huahua usually uses bean cakes~

Crush the bean cake and rapeseed cake into a plastic bottle and place it in the sun. It will ferment in about 2 to 3 months. Then mix the fertilizer and water in a ratio of 1:50 and use it.

At the same time, because jasmine likes slightly acidic soil, if conditions permit at home, you can use alum fertilizer water. The configuration method is ferrous sulfate: cake fertilizer: dry manure: water = 1:5:3:100 ratio.

If you cannot make alum fertilizer water, you can pour 1 to 2 drops of vinegar into the water each time you water it, or mix ferrous sulfate in a ratio of 1:1000 and use it to irrigate the roots.

Huahua is quite lazy, so she usually adds vinegar!

Cuttings

Flowering branches are very suitable for cuttings, because these branches are very rich in nutrients, the cells are very active, and they take root quickly.

1. Choose some stronger branches from the cut ones.

2. The cuttings should have at least three nodes, and then remove the leaves below, leaving only a pair of leaves. At the same time, in order to reduce evaporation, the remaining leaves should also be cut in half.

Moreover, the distance between the cut and the node should be about 1.5 cm, so that it is easier to take root. The flowers have been marked in the picture below, just look at 1 in the picture below.

3. Prepare clean perlite, vermiculite or river sand.

4. Disinfect the branches with carbendazim and dry them in the shade.

5. Wet the vermiculite in the flowerpot and then insert the branches into it.

6. Spray the leaves, then put them in the bucket and cover them. The water droplets will not dry easily and the plants will be easier to survive. But remember to open the lid for ventilation every day, otherwise they will suffocate.

7. Generally, the cuttings will take root in about half a month, but the root system is still relatively fragile at this time. You can wait for about half a month to allow the root system to grow stronger before transplanting.

Other points to note

1. Get more sunlight. This is very important. The better the sunlight, the more fragrant the flowers will be.

2. Water frequently. Jasmine likes a humid environment, so you must keep up with the watering. It needs to be watered about once every 3 to 5 days!

What should I do if jasmine leaves turn yellow?

1. Add vinegar or ferrous sulfate when watering. Yellowing may be due to alkaline soil.

2. Insufficient light. Jasmine has a high demand for light. If you place jasmine in a dark place for a long time, its leaves will easily turn yellow. Therefore, you must place jasmine outside!

What should I do if jasmine roots rot?

1. First, take the jasmine out of the pot and clean off the soil.

2. Use a sterilized knife to cut off all the rotten and blackened parts of the jasmine roots. Note that it is better to cut off a little more than to leave any black behind.

3. The soil ratio can be 4 parts of garden soil, 4 parts of compost, 2 parts of river sand or rice husk ash, plus fully decomposed dry cake crumbs, chicken and duck manure, etc., mix and stir evenly. At the same time, fill the bottom of the flowerpot with expanded clay or something like that to form a base and avoid water accumulation.

Huahua brought home a lot of loofah pulp a while ago, and it's also good to use this as a base~

4. Place the wound on the jasmine roots in a solution of carbendazim for disinfection, then let it dry for 5 minutes.

5. Just put the ones that have dried in the shade into pots!
