Geranium cuttings

Geraniums have beautiful flowers and they bloom for a very long time. It blooms all year round except for the two hottest months in summer. Pinch a few branches and do cuttings in spring, and you can enjoy the flowers all year round!

1. Cut healthy geranium branches. It is best to choose mother plants that have been growing for more than one year.

2. For each branch of 5 to 6 cm, generally only 2 to 3 leaves are left, and the others can be trimmed off.

3. There will be a lot of moisture in the wounds of the freshly cut branches. They need to be left in the air for 1 to 2 hours. When the wounds are dry as shown in the picture below, you can proceed with cuttings.

4. You can choose peat soil and perlite as the soil for cuttings. Use a small wooden stick to poke a hole in the soil, put the branch in about 2 cm, and compact it slightly.

5. Geraniums are different from many woody flowers in that they do not like an environment with too high humidity when propagated by cuttings, so there should be no accumulation of water during the propagation period, just keep the soil moist. It usually takes 20 to 30 days for the seeds to take root.

Jasmine cuttings

The light fragrance of jasmine is very pleasant. Putting a pot of it in the living room will fill the room with fragrance. As long as the temperature at home is above 18 degrees, you can take cuttings.

1. Use scissors to cut some jasmine branches, leaving only a pair of leaves in each section, and cut the leaves in half with scissors. This can reduce water evaporation and nutrient consumption.

2. You can use sand for jasmine cuttings. Jasmine likes moisture, so you can water it once in the morning and evening after planting to keep it moist.

3. After the cuttings are done, place the flower pot in a place with light but no direct sunlight. It will take about 40 days for roots to form.

Cuttings of Begonia

When taking cuttings of Begonia, pay attention to the black rot problem and take preventive measures!

1. The blades for cutting branches must be disinfected in advance. Move quickly when cutting branches and try to make the wound smooth to reduce the chance of infection. Just keep a pair of leaves on a branch.

2. When cutting Reigo Begonia, wait until the wound at the end of the branch is completely dry before cutting. It is best to apply some carbendazim powder on the wounds of the mother plant to prevent black rot.

3. You can use vermiculite, perlite, etc. to propagate Reie Begonia, or you can use pure water for water propagation.

4. After cuttings, the Begonia can be placed in a location with scattered light and the soil can be kept moist. It will generally take more than a month to take root.

Hydrangea cuttings

Many people like to plant hydrangeas in their yards. The flowers are really beautiful, and it is relatively easy to propagate them by cuttings. If you put in some effort in the spring, you can have a yard full of hydrangeas!

1. Disinfect the scissors with alcohol, cut off several sections of hydrangea branches, leaving a pair of leaves on each section, and cut off half of the leaves with scissors.

2. You can use peat soil for growing seedlings, or vermiculite, etc. for hydrangea cuttings.

3. After cuttings, remember to spray water to keep them moist. Place them in a location without direct sunlight. The best temperature is around 20 degrees. They will generally take root in 20 to 30 days.
