How to hydroponically cultivate lotus

How to hydroponically cultivate lotus

1. Prepare the basin

Since this plant likes to carry out physiological activities in dark places, we need to prepare a light-proof container for it, and the shape can be of your choice.

2. Seed treatment

In order to make it germinate quickly, we need to process the seeds with tools first: use a knife to make a small hole on the round raised side of the seed, and be careful not to damage its embryo.

3. Soak in water

Soak the broken seeds in warm water, changing the water every 2 to 3 days, until the seeds sprout. After the seeds germinate, continue to soak them in water until they grow floating leaves and roots, then you can plant them in pots.

4. Colonization

Place the sprouts in the prepared container. In order to prevent its roots from floating up, you can spread a layer of coarse sand underneath to slightly press down its roots. This will make it look much more beautiful.

5. Moisture

Pour water into the pot where the plants have been planted, just enough to reach the bottom of the leaves.

6. Nutrients

Since there is no substance in clear water, we have to buy some nutrient solution and pour it into the water. The amount of nutrient solution should be controlled according to the instructions. If there is no nutrient solution and only water, the plant will die soon and we will not see it blooming, so we must add nutrient solution.

7. Lighting

During its growth period, it needs light that meets its requirements, so it should be exposed to more sunlight.
