How to grow cymbidium orchids so that they bloom

How to grow cymbidium orchids so that they bloom

1. Adequate light

If you want to grow large-flowered Cymbidium orchid successfully, you must give it enough sunlight. You can put it in a place with good lighting conditions to allow it to receive more light. Because it is a relatively rare light-loving variety among orchids, it can accept all light except extremely strong direct light. The more sunlight it receives, the more nutrients it can synthesize, allowing it to bloom better.

2. Stay warm

In addition to light, temperature is also an important factor affecting its flowering. If the environment is too cold, it will not bloom properly. Only when the ambient temperature is kept between 10-25℃ can it bloom successfully. Its flowering period is in spring, so every spring you must pay attention to keeping it warm and not let it catch cold. Especially on cold nights in early spring, try to keep it in a greenhouse. This way it can bloom better.

3. Adequate nutrients

In addition to environmental conditions such as light and temperature, it also needs certain nutrient support for flowering. Therefore, when it is approaching its flowering period, be sure to apply fertilizer to it in time. Fertilizers should be selected with higher content of phosphorus and potassium and lower content of nitrogen. Because nitrogen stimulates the growth of its branches and leaves, while phosphorus and potassium stimulate it to bloom. Generally speaking, when approaching the flowering period, apply 2-3 more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. This will help it bloom better.
