The reason why Spathiphyllum turns yellow

The reason why Spathiphyllum turns yellow

1. Improper lighting

The yellowing of Spathiphyllum may be due to inappropriate lighting. When the sunlight is too strong, the plant will be burned, causing it to lack water and dry up and turn yellow. If the light is too weak, it will turn yellow. Without sunlight supplement, the plant will find it difficult to absorb sunlight and synthesize nutrients, which will also cause the Spathiphyllum to turn yellow. Adjust the light at ordinary times and try to maintain it in a place with scattered light.

2. Improper watering

Water is a factor of growth. If you water too little, the plant will lack water, the soil in the pot will be too dry, and it will be difficult for the roots to absorb water normally. The plant will then lack water and turn yellow. If you water too much, a large amount of water will accumulate in the potting soil, which will be difficult for the roots to bear and will cause the roots to rot, weaken the transport function, and the plant will turn yellow. Apply water appropriately according to the growth requirements.

3. Improper fertilization

The application of fertilizer will also affect Spathiphyllum. Lack of fertilizer will cause the plant to grow weakly and turn yellow due to lack of fertilizer. Applying too much fertilizer will make it difficult for the roots to absorb it normally, causing root burn and yellowing. Adjust the amount of fertilizer, add a small amount when there is a shortage of fertilizer, and dilute it with water when there is too much fertilizer.

4. The temperature is not suitable

It can withstand high temperatures, but cannot withstand low temperatures. Temperatures that are too high or too low will cause the Spathiphyllum to turn yellow. The temperature range needs to be controlled, cooling down in time in summer and moving indoors to keep warm in winter.
