How to make daffodil leaves curl

How to make daffodil leaves curl

1. Operation method

1. Remove the bulb. First, peel off the film, soil and dead roots on the daffodil bulb. This is to remove the dirt and prevent it from rotting.

2. Carve flower buds. After that, proceed with the "opening" process, being careful not to use a knife deeper than the radius of the bulb. After completion, the formal carving will begin. Hold the daffodil head in your left hand, place the index finger of your right hand on the blade, and cut upwards from about one centimeter above the front of the bulb disk, removing the scales until all the leaf buds are exposed. Please note that when we are carving, we must not damage the flower stalks and flower buds. In addition, if there are two or more flowers, the flower and leaf buds must be fully exposed before proceeding.

3. Process the leaves. In order to make the leaves of daffodils curl, we need to process the leaf buds on both sides of the buds. You can start cutting from the bottom of the leaf upwards, or from the top downwards. Gently cut off a small portion of the leaf, about one-fifth to two-fifths. Note that when shaving from bottom to top, the bottom can be smaller and the top larger, that is, shave more of the upper part. Also, we can use our thumbs to loosen the leaves on both sides, that is, separate the leaves and buds, and then use a knife to gently cut them.

4. Carve the flower stalks. This has a similar effect to cutting leaf buds. Cut according to the shape, and be careful not to cut too hard, otherwise it will not grow normally. Specifically, there are several methods of carving, including "flower pot", "peacock spreading its tail", and "flower basket", and the treatment of each is different.

2. Precautions

1. Be careful when operating and do not cut too deep to damage the rhizome.

2. Do not cut off too many leaves when processing them.
