Why are the leaves of hydrangea turning white? How to treat it

1. Why are the leaves of hydrangea turning white?

The problem of hydrangea leaves turning white is mostly because it has powdery mildew. If you keep it in a place with high humidity, high temperature and insufficient ventilation for a long time during maintenance, it may be infected with bacteria and develop powdery mildew. In the early stages of the disease, white irregular spots will appear on a small number of leaves of the plant. If not treated in time, the number of leaves with diseased spots will increase significantly and the plant will slowly wither.

2. How to treat the whitening of hydrangea leaves

1. Timely pruning: After discovering white spots on the leaves of hydrangea, you need to cut off the diseased leaves in time. These leaves carry pathogens. If they are not cut off in time, the pathogens may spread to other leaves.

2. Change position: After pruning, move the plant to a well-ventilated place for maintenance. During the maintenance period, water control should be carried out and water it only when its soil becomes dry.

3. Spray medicine: In addition to changing its position, you also need to spray it with medicine for treatment. The medicine can be 15% triadimefon diluted 1000 times, 10% polyoxin diluted 1000-1500 times, or 2% antimycotic aqueous solution diluted 200 times. Spray once every 3-4 days for 2-3 weeks to basically cure the disease. After the disease is cured, you can spray it a few more times to prevent the disease from recurring.
