Cultivation methods and precautions of silver-edged spider plant

Cultivation methods and precautions of silver-edged spider plant

1. Lighting

This plant usually likes to stay in a semi-shaded environment. It is sensitive to light, especially in the summer and autumn when the sun is strong. It cannot accept direct sunlight, otherwise it will cause withering. In winter, it can be exposed to the sun appropriately. Generally speaking, we can put it in a cool and ventilated place, and pay attention to maintaining the humidity of the environment.

2. Temperature

This plant usually likes to grow in a warm and humid place, and cannot accept too cold climate or too hot temperature. The most suitable temperature for its growth is about 15 to 25 degrees. Especially in winter, the temperature in the house cannot be lower than 5 degrees. When the temperature is too high, be careful not to let it be exposed to strong light, and it needs a clear and shaded environment; when the temperature is low, you can let it be exposed to more sunlight so that its leaf color will look good.

3. Moisture

This plant loves water very much, but because its roots are fleshy and have a strong ability to store water, it is also more adaptable to arid environments. However, during the months from March to September when it is in its vigorous growth period, it needs a relatively large amount of water, so we need to water and spray it frequently to increase its humidity, and also ensure that the soil in the pot is completely moist. In winter, when it is dormant, we can observe with the naked eye that when the soil in the pot is about 1 cm thick, we can water it.

4. Fertilizer

This is a plant that is relatively tolerant of fertilizer, but if there is insufficient fertilizer and water, it will easily become burnt and then aged, and its leaves will also change, making it completely worthless to ornament. We can fertilize those spider plants that have already grown into small plants once every half a month. If the growth condition is good, no need to apply fertilizer.

5. Note

1. Be careful not to expose the skin to too much sun in summer and autumn.

2Pay attention to cooling down in summer and keeping warm in winter.
