How to make the Alocasia odora bloom

How to make the Alocasia odora bloom

1. The temperature should be appropriate

Like most succulents, it is very afraid of summer, especially the stuffy and humid summer, which will make them prone to black rot, so you must be careful when caring for them in the summer. If the weather is too hot, we can move it to a well-ventilated place for maintenance to prevent it from being sunburned. During its growth process, the most suitable temperature for it is between 20 and 30 degrees. If you can maintain this temperature all year round, it will be easier for it to bloom. However, it is easier to maintain this temperature in other seasons, but it is a bit difficult in winter. If you really can't maintain it, it doesn't matter, just don't let the temperature drop below 15 degrees. Otherwise, not only will the flower not bloom, but it will also be frozen.

2. Water appropriately

Raising it is actually just like raising our children. If we spoil them too much, they will become extremely delicate and will not be able to adapt to the slightest change in the environment, and may even die. So, when watering it, don't worry too much about it lacking water, just give it an appropriate amount. If you water it too much, its roots will easily suffer from oxygen deprivation, which will affect the growth of the plant. Generally, you will need to water the plant a little more frequently in the spring, but you can just water it normally at other times. This will allow it to grow stronger and be more likely to bloom.

3. Fertilization should be appropriate

Not all plants will grow better the more fertilizer they are given. Instead, we need to give it appropriate fertilizer at the right time to make it grow better. The same is true for the Alocasia odora. During its vigorous growth period, we can give it a little more fertilizer, but at other times we must control the amount of fertilizer, especially not let the concentration of fertilizer be too high, otherwise it will easily burn it to death. If you want it to bloom, my suggestion is that it is better to use thinner fertilizer rather than thicker one, and it is better to apply less frequently rather than too much.

4. Change the pot in time

The most important point for it to outgrow the pot is to change it to a larger pot in time before it gives birth to puppies, so that it can have enough space to grow.
